Ann Coulter spews bile, bigotry, hatred as she tears at "liberalism" (a tidy word she uses to "sum up" that which contains all that is wrong with society today).

Disagree with Ann? You worship at the altar of 'liberalism'.

She is a dangerous wack-job, and should be viewed as such. Sorry, but in her case, I'll discount everything she says, just because it's her.

I read Shapiro every time he's on the editorial page......I was going to read your thread, Viredd, but then I knew you pulled the old bait and switch.....there is nothing fair when Shapiro reviews Coulter's books, and vice versa. You'd think both of these writers would just take the big bucks at Fox news and preach to the choir.

Ann Coulters flamboyant nastiness of rhetors represents the destruction of conscience as a type of liberation. She is a cultists, continually egging on their audiences to destroy their own minds by punching through one layer after another of their consciences.

She is claiming to have inside knowledge of the personal psychology of this group of women who lost their husbands on 9/11. There is no evidence whatsoever that those women enjoyed their husbands' deaths.

They may enjoy media attention like Michael moore and Ann Coulter do,,,

But enjoying a death? And the death of a loved one when fatherless children were left behind? Coulter's comments are not only false but cruel

She has once again lied like Michael Moore does,,,Very Typical

An apology would be consistent with the Christian cross that Coulter frequently wears around her neck.

It bears repeating I'm no fan of the way Ann often delivers her message and was initially repulsed by Ann's comments until I did a little fact checking.

Having said that it is more than obvious resin you've not read what Ann wrote just prior to the infamous line and after, nor has a majority of the press disclosed that.

Ann in no way intimated or stated the women were jumping up and down upon seeing and hearing of their husbands deaths nor dancing in the streets shortly after. That is how the press has painted her intent to have been, but such is not the case.

If you had taken the time to research you would have found Ann's intent was to display how a group of women who prior to 9/11 were nothing out of the ordinary but subsequent to and because of their husbands deaths, along with their political positions taken have in fact jumped into the spotlight. Going from bereaved widows to outspoken political pundits, experts on world economics and international affairs. Taking political positions as anyone can and should. But if you would review recent photos of them they don't look anything like bereaved widows but rather an empowered group... Again that is fine..

But Ann's point is they appear to be enjoying the limelight that was only available because of their husbands unfortunate deaths and they have used that limelight, their deaths for their own gain and apparent enjoyment..again look at the pictures..... they aren't looking too upset or bereaved..

Further Ann's point was because they are "9/11" widows, should you say anything against them you are yourself attacked...

Her point is valid resin, for you neither took the time not had the deceny to find out exactly what she said or meant, but rather condemned her based upon what others said.

Again I can't nor won't defend the manner by which Ann stated what she did..

But looking at your response and others.... she was 100% accurate in her intent.............she just could have stated it more diplomatically..

Well, this open mind sees Ann Coulter as a fear/hate-possessed woman, who, should she have a personal revelation and actually experience the "Christian love" she espouses, could be quite interesting.

Your twist of the word decency is kinda of a neat,,,This type of linguistic engineering is highly evolved in the business milieu from which conservative public relations derives, and it is the day-to-day work of countless conservative think tanks,,,your opinions are so predictable. The main idea of public relations is the distinction between "messages" and "facts".

Ummm, have you anti-Ann folks taken the time to read anything written, or listened to anything said by those on the extreme left? All Ann Coulter is doing is shoving it right back into their faces. Not only that, but she has exposed the left's technique of using people of "victim" status to hide behind. For example, if an African-American says something outlandish, such as "We need to nationalize the oil companies," and you debate the issue, you're labled as a racist. Speak out against the four 9-11 widows, who just happen to have a hell-bent-to-the-left agenda, then you're labled "cruel" and "insensitive." This is how the left has stiffled debate for decades. With her latest book, Ann has exposed this tactic once and for all ... and that's what's pissing the left off so much. Not that I agree with everything she says, but that's what I like the most about her. With Ann Coulter, no sacred cows are safe from goring. Most of those on the left, as OneLegUp has pointed out, haven't taken the time to read the book. Like canyons devoid of critical thought, they just echo what the Deaniacs say.

By the way, I understand that Ann Coulter was on Jay Leno last night, and for a counter-point, George Carlin was a guest as well. I missed it. By any chance, did any of you see it? Ann Coulter vs George Carlin in a debate ... sounds like a riot in the making to me. :)

Well, interesting comments by resinman ...

I haven't read the book either, but I suspect I may get a copy for Father's Day. :) I'll do a book report and maybe some questions will be answered.

I DID manage to stay awake long enough to see Ann Coulter on the Tonight Show. I was really lookiing forward to a Carlin, Coulter debate ... but it didn't happen. Carlin was on first, and when Leno was interviewing Coulter, Carlin just sat on the couch with a smile on his face. Coulter was pretty funny though. Leno asked her if, as a result of her latest book, if she had to travel with body guards. She answered: "Nope, because I'm usually surrounded by a bunch of conservative men. Its the liberal men who throw pies at me ... and they always miss. So, I think my conservative men-pals could handle those liberal men with ease."

Good point. I for one am frightened of extremists at "both ends" of the political spectrum. I'd like to see more rational, reasonable (yeah, I know they're subjective words) discussion, rather than partisan rhetoric. Both sides of our political system spout this like oral diarrhea. I'm right of center on many issues, but I consider Ann a foil, she's trying to stir up controversy, like Rush, IMO. They both thrive on stirring stuff up. They do serve as counterpoints to people like Micheal Moore, etc. and that amuses me. Mikey got away with calling Farenheight 911 a "documentary"!!! It was as much propaganda as anything the "right" spews. Both should worry less about their partisan jabs and more about rational solutions to our problems.

Well, they are actually the "old left." I'm hoping for a resurgence of the "Old Right." A lot of you devout lefties would love it too. After all, it was the "Old Right" that opposed WWII and America's interventionist and imperialistic efforts prior to both WWI and WWII. Now I'm really confused. *lol* :)
